Project: Garden design (private client)

Location: East Dunbartonshire

This project was another opportunity to work with a stunning architectural home as the backdrop. The brief was for a contemporary garden with ecological planting, benefitting the local environment by improving and providing additional habitat, whilst also creating an aesthetic statement.

Slate slabs were chosen to harmonise with the anthracite grey window frames of the house, and the gravel around the house was planted into - the awkward shape of the garden was taken as an opportunity to play with both the physical and visual journey around the garden, making it now both an enjoyable space to walk around in, as well as to view from within the house.

The contemporary pond was designed with shelves to allow for amphibian access, predominantly native pond plants, and lush surrounding planting that will eventually spill over the hard surfaces to create a true reimagining of what a wildlife pond can look like.
