Tom has a background as a landscape maintenance contractor, and also specialised in soft landscape management for his Master of Horticulture award, the highest qualification offered by the Royal Horticultural Society.

These can be entirely bespoke and tailored to individual sites, or can take the form a high quality generic maintenance specification that you can use across a broad range of different types of site within your portfolio.

Long-term maintenance plans - Best practice landscape maintenance plans can be produced that not only cater to every aspect of the green infrastructure on your sites, but the plans will be knowledgeable, pragmatic and realistic. Biodiversity is always at the heart of Tom’s maintenance specifications, so you can be assured a truly holistic approach that can sit alongside habitat management plans in order to ensure your ornamental landscapes are not overlooked.

Generic maintenance specifications - For clients with a portfolio of sites, a tick-box adaptable maintenance specification can be provided. These specifications can be tweaked according to the age of the site, its current condition, and your aspirations for the site going forward.

Bespoke maintenance specifications - For high value or high visibility sites, or simply if you want to ensure that every single aspect of your site management is being done perfectly, entitrely bespoke specifications can be produced, tailored to individual sites.

What we do

These initial surveys may include reference to plant health, plant identification, presence of invasive weeds, or myriad other factors that indicate the current condition of the soft landscaping on your site(s).

  • These reports are a step forward from the initial survey listing recommendations for improvements, tailored to your own aspirations and any specific issues that you are looking to address.

  • Produced for individual sites or entire portfolios, these highly detailed plans provide a breakdown of the objectives, resources, actions and future considerations that are required to maintain external spaces, ensuring they are maintained and developed according to best sustainable practices embedded in the principles of environmental horticulture.

  • Detailed month by month and plant by plant schedules of the maintenance required on the soft landscaping on each of your sites, to improve and develop their full potential, and keep everything looking sharp through the year.

  • For contractors with remote sites that need monitoring, Tom is able to provide regular visits to help ensure your quality standards are being upheld.

  • For sites with Japanese Knotweed, Himalayan Balsam, Giant Hogweed or any of the many terrestrial plant species on the Schedule 9 invasive species list, a full site survey is followed up with a detailed management plan. Tom is an independent Certificated Surveyor of Japanese Knotweed (CSJK).

  • A comprehensive planting design service is available for projects anywhere in the UK, be they at the planning stage or part of existing sites.

  • Tom works closely with ecologists to help you integrate your Biodiversity Net Gain goals into your planting and soft landscaping.
